Macaroons are not better than readily available SPKI/SDSI

They provide a framework for any token-based credential systems in the cloud

Examples: 
- Cookies
- OAuth tokens
- SAML/OpenID assertions
- unlisted URLs

Macaroons support:

- contextual confinement
